The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa held the "Japan Architects : Architecture since 3.11", which showcases the contributions of 30 architects to show the role architects will play amid the changes to come in Japanese society in the aftermath of the March 2011 Great East Japan earthquake. Torafu Architects presented the work accomplished with Ishinomaki Laboratory since the disaster took place.

In response to the natural light coming in through the top-light, we sought to provide a shelter by symbolically placing a roof over three 3.6 meters-high oversized AA stools found at the center of the exhibition site. Projected on both sides of a hanging screen under the roof of this makeshift tent, is a double feature documentary film documenting Ishinomaki Laboratory's activities from the human as well as the material side of things. Visitors can enjoy the screenings by sitting on AA stools as well as many other stools and benches designed by Ishinomaki Laboratory.
Since they are used throughout the site as display fixtures and even as legs for tables, AA high stools bring a sense of unity to the whole exhibition.

While the form that takes each architect's contribution may differ, this exhibition sought to present the wide range of roles Japanese architects will be called to play in the future.
