フローリング材を扱うオーストリアのブランド、MAFIの素材を使った家具の提案。
長いベンチから切り出されたような不思議なプロポーションの家具は、ベンチのようでイスでもあり、一人がけのようで二人がけにもなる。
このベンチチェアは、MAFIの特徴的なフローリング材としての存在感を保つため、極力シンプルな印象のチェアとした。パブリックなベンチとしての体裁をとりながら、パーソナルなチェアの側面も併せ持つ。
単体のベンチチェアを並べると、MAFIのサンプル帳を眺めるように、見る人にコレクションの楽しみを与えている。

This is a proposal for a piece of furniture using Mafi, an Austrian brand which deals with flooring materials. A bench as well as a chair and fit for either one or two persons, the bench-chair has unusual proportions and is made from the special flooring. In order to display the distinctive properties of Mafi flooring, we had kept the design as simple as possible. While it appears like a public bench, it also reflects the image of a personal chair.
When the individual bench-chairs are placed next to each other, it may give you the pleasure of seeing a sample book collection of Mafi flooring.
