池袋にオープンした大型シネマコンプレックス「グランドシネマサンシャイン」のエントランスロビーに、「現代的な解釈と技術を加えた新しいアート」として、映像を用いたシャンデリアをデザインした。
直径2.7mの巨大な球体は、ボロノイ分割によりできた多面体を基準に、47個の筒型のセルで構成されている。この球体を４方向からプロジェクターで照射し、中心部に張られたスクリーンに映し出された映像が、ステンレスの鏡面で作られた本体を介して複雑に反射を繰り返す。
2層吹抜の環境を活かし、全方位から眺められるシンボルとして、刻々と表情を変える立体的な光の万華鏡を目指した。

We designed a chandelier that utilizes video as a “new art that combines modern interpretation and technique” in the entrance lobby of Grand Cinema Sunshine, a large cinema complex that opened in Ikebukuro.
The giant sphere with a diameter of 2.7m is composed of 47 tube-shaped cells using polyhedra made through Voronoi tessellation as a reference. This sphere is illuminated by projectors from four directions, and the video projected on the screen placed in the central part is repeated as it reflects intricately through the main body made with stainless mirror surfaces.
Taking advantage of the two-storied, high ceiling environment, we aimed to create a three-dimensional kaleidoscope of lights whose expression changes moment by moment as a visual signature that can be viewed from every direction.
