ISSEY MIYAKE SHINJUKUに併設するギャラリー「SHIKAKU」で開催された、me ISSEY MIYAKEによる展示「Color me Up」の会場構成。ブランドを代表するシリーズ「PALETTE 12」「KONBU」「TRUNK PLEATS BAG 12」を紹介する空間が求められた。円形の台座上にカラフルな衣服やバッグを放射状に配置し、一部には回転機構を組み込むことで、アイテムがメリーゴーラウンドのように軽やかに舞い踊る仕掛けとした。台座の縁には波板をあしらい、花壇を思わせる意匠を施すことで、全体がひとつの大きな花壇のような佇まいを見せる。中央に集まった色のパレットは、来場者の視線を自然に引き込み、色を選び、組み合わせる楽しさを直感的に体験できる場をつくり出した。

The spatial design for Color me Up, an exhibition by me ISSEY MIYAKE held at SHIKAKU, the gallery adjacent to ISSEY MIYAKE SHINJUKU. The exhibition space was created to present the brand’s representative series: PALETTE 12, KONBU, and TRUNK PLEATS BAG 12.Colorful garments and bags were arranged radially on a circular platform, with some incorporating a rotating mechanism that set the pieces in motion, making them dance lightly like a merry-go-round. Corrugated panels were applied to the platform’s edge, evoking the look of a flower bed and giving the entire installation the appearance of a large blooming garden.At the center, the palette of gathered colors naturally drew the visitors’ gaze, creating a place where the joy of choosing and combining colors could be experienced intuitively.
