PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKEより発表された、ガラス作家・髙橋漠氏の作品から色を抽出し、PLEATS PLEASEの服を通して表現する「GLASS COLORS」というシリーズのウィンドウディスプレイ。モチーフとなった作品の、有機的な形態や独特な質感、色の組み合わせを表現した。ウィンドウ面を大きく使い、作品の一部を拡大したグラフィックシートでガラスの独特な質感を表現した。作品を展示した回転する円形什器は、ガラス特有の移ろう表情の変化を楽しむことができ、また、無機質で静的なマネキンに動きを与えている。右側のウィンドウでは、3台のモニターで「GLASS COLORS」の映像表現を試みる。拡大したグラフィックや動きのあるディスプレイ、アブストラクトな映像表現を用い、同シリーズの世界観を多面的に体感できる空間を目指した。

We created a window display for the “GLASS COLORS” series that extracts color from the works of glass artist Baku Takahashi and is expressed through the clothes of PLEATS PLEASE unveiled by PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE. We sought to express the organic form, original feel and color combination of the work that served as a motif. We expressed the original feel of glass by using a graphic sheet presenting an enlarged part of the work taking up much of the window surface. The revolving circular fixture used to display the work allows one to enjoy the change in expression that is unique to glass, and lends movement to the inorganic and static mannequin. At the right side window, we introduced visuals inspired by “GLASS COLORS” via three monitors. Using enlarged graphics, a dynamic display, and an abstract visual expression, we aimed to create a space that allows one to physically experience the world view put forward by this series from various angles.
