宿泊施設の各種消耗品、備品を全般的に数多く扱う商社のショールームの改装計画である。たとえばシャンプーひとつ取り上げても、その種類は何十種とある。その大量の類似品をどう効果的に展示するかということと、商品が今後さらに増え続けても、それに耐え得る強さをもった空間をめざした。
そこで、回転しているダンサーやろくろで作った壺などをモチーフにし、まるで回転しているかのようなショーケース "回転体"と呼ぶ什器のある空間を提案した。
"回転体"とは、物体を回転させて現れる残像効果を利用した什器である。商品を"回転体" の円盤上に陳列することで、商品は"回転体"の一部のように環状に連続していく。毎日見ている日常的な商品群が残像のように増殖する。
"回転体"と商品は同化し、壁面においては反射効果により、商品と空間が溶け合う。一方、空間全体を見てみると、床、天井に映り込み上下に引き伸ばされた"回転体"の林立する非日常的な風景が、このショールームを強く印象付けることとなる。

This is a renovation project for a hotel fixtures showroom. The showroom displays a huge amount of goods and if the numbers are to increase further on from now the space we design needs to withstand them spacially and visually. We aimed to design a strong space which could display many of the same kinds of products effectively and which could bear new additions without there needing to be alterations to structure or interference with the design.
We proposed a series of showcases “spinning objects” like dancers spinning or a potter’s wheel in motion.
By displaying the items upon the circular case they become one with the “spinning object”, this creates an illusion like an after image.
Along the wall the distorting mirror causes a reflective effect which causes the items again to melt into their surrounding space.Looking at the overall space, the “spinning objects” are expanded by reflecting on the ceiling and the floor, this unusual scene leaves a strong impression.
